Business Challenge
The Education & Training Foundation (ETF) engaged Flyte to design, build, and maintain a registration and user portal which was to be the single point of account creation for an external user into the foundation’s site.

Design, build, and maintain a registration & user portal
Azure / Web Application
Upon registration, the user would be able to create an account to access ETF’s resources such as their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses.
The solution was to enable:
- Account creation and sign-up by external users to access all ETF resources.
- Single starting point for all users to begin their ETF Journey.
- Self-service password and forgotten password functionality.
- Profile management area, such as updating marketing preferences.
- Automatic dynamic fields values from an everchanging data source.
- Custom user journeys based on the users entry point within the ETF Ecosystem.
- SSO enabled links to other ETF websites, programmes, resources and content from the portal.
- Custom Single Log Out process that worked between different IdP Providers and Azure B2C.
The Result
Following the successful deployment of the solution, Flyte have continued to work with ETF to support the solutions and continue to scope and develop additional functionality as it is required.
Flyte developed a Single Sign-On portal using Azure B2C in addition to the creation of a User Portal for account administration which acts as a launching point to connect to the wider services within the ETF ecosystem. A challenge faced and conquered was the adaption of the above SSO user journey where a bespoke sign up process was required to meet the requirements set out by ETFs shareholders and governing bodies.
In addition to this, we implemented a bespoke Single Log-Out process which works across all systems connected via SSO. The main challenge with this feature was creating a separate solution with each connected system to run on a different technology stack, with it’s own sign on and log out process. A key consideration was how modern user agents (browsers) are blocking access to Third-Party Content which prevented the ability to use B2C’s Front Channel Logout process and an alternative solution was required.
