Business Challenge
GTC Scotland requested a review of their existing extranet and Microsoft Teams implementation. External users were granted access to several different SharePoint extranet sites with no central governance in place and no way to track which resources users had access to.

Flyte carried out discovery work to review the existing extranet sites and permissions alongside potential solutions for limiting the number of Microsoft Teams sites being created. Files from multiple different extranet sites were migrated and consolidated into one SharePoint site with multiple different document libraries and permissions set to allow central governance of externally shared resources.
Link expiry was set up for external users, and a recommendation was put in place to share with external users using their own email addresses rather than accounts on the client tenancy. This allowed tighter control over access to resources by site owners when links for external users were expiring, with the option to extend or revoke access.
